Each diocese/jurisdiction is permitted to submit a designated number of applicants for consideration by the state selection committee. The number of applicant finalists is determined by the total enrollment for each diocese/jurisdiction.
Each diocese/jurisdiction will assemble a selection committee to review the submitted applications.
Each diocese/jurisdiction will submit its finalists to the Wisconsin Council of Religious and Independent Schools (WCRIS) no later than December 15, 2008. WCRIS will submit the applications of finalists to the state selection committee.
The state selection committee will consist of representatives from the cooperative educational service agencies, WCRIS, Wisconsin Parents Association, Wisconsin Newspaper Association, Herb Kohl Educational Foundation, the community, and education-related associations. The committee will convene on February 3-4, 2009 to score applications. Applicants will be contacted in late February or early March, 2009.

Recipients' accomplishments are celebrated at a recognition luncheon in the spring. Fellows and their schools will receive their grants in late June, 2009.
