The deadline for applying for 2012 Student Excellence Scholarships and Teacher Fellowships has passed. You may nominate an educator for a 2013 Fellowship by clicking on "Forms" at the top of this page. Click on "Teachers", then click on "On Line Nomination" for either the PUBLIC or RELIGIOUS/INDEPENDENT category. 2013 Excellence Scholarship applications will be available in September 2012.

2011 Herb Kohl Educatonal Foundation Excellence and Initiative Scholarship checks were mailed on August 2 to the colleges selected by scholarship recipients. Scholars who have not yet provided their college information to the foundation should do so as soon as possible.
2011 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellows and their schools received their grants in early June.
Recipients of 2011 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation scholarships and fellowships have been selected. Announcement letters were mailed to recipients on March 1. Click on "Press Releases" at the top of this page for the news release and list of recipients.
The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation is now providing $3,000 grants to each of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's Teachers of the Year. Annually, four teachers are chosen by DPI to receive this award. One of the four educators will be chosen to represent Wisconsin in the National Teacher of the Year competition and will receive an additional $6,000 from the Kohl Foundation.
